The Yoga Room is offering for those interested in pursuing 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through a registered Yoga Alliance School.  Whether you wish to teach or deepen your personal practice, you will meet the teachers, review the curricula and texts, meet other students and speak with graduates from previous classes.  Classes begin in September, and registration has begun. Also available  200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Auditing Opportunity participate in one particular weekend of interest topic. Credit good toward continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance. 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Auditing Opportunity  

If you would like to learn more about the foundations of Yoga Teaching, brush up on philosophy, alignment, teaching methodology, Ayurveda, anatomy and physiology, or any of the other components of a YTT program, you are welcome to join the class of 2010-2011 on a pay-as-you-go basis.  Each month we explore a different system of the body, asana and herbs that help deal with common conditions of that system, and reading and discussion of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, exploration of the “subtle” bodies of Nadis and Chakras, and more.  Continuing Education credits are available for teachers who wish to maintain their certification through Yoga Alliance®.  For a schedule of the monthly classes, please contact Patricia Harpell at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Kundalini yoga was introduced to the U.S. by Yogi Bhajan.Unlike Hatha based programs, each Kundalini class includes kriyas ( series of usually- enrgetic movements designed for a specific outcome). energizing pranayama,chant and "active" meditations. Challenge yourself to a practice that atkes you to your edge ,and then lets you fall blissfully into Grace!

     Elder and Low Mobility Yoga Certification  Sept. 25&26  8am-5pm                Pat Harpell

This certification program is for yoga teachers, family caregivers, healthcare providers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and others interested in learning how to introduce the healing benefits of Yoga into the lives of those with low mobility.  This program includes an overview of the anatomy and physiology of those with low mobility, the dis-eases and conditions that effect elders in our culture, chair and mat yoga sequences, seated-somatic exercises, breathing exercises, and guided meditations.  Students will also learn when certain yoga poses and breathing techniques are contraindicated.   This program has been introduced into private care situations as well as Assisted Living, Nursing and Rehabilitation Homes, Hospice Care and Spinal Cord Injury programs.

To receive certification, students will be required to complete two (2) hours of practicum outside the classroom.  Guidance will be available on how to accomplish this.                                Fee:  $190

What is advanced yoga? It is stillness, expansiveness, letting go, surrendering, allowing and Being. it is the ability to find expansiveness within.  Advanced Yoga is to enjoy your own company, no matter how quirky. It is to be able to ?be? with yourself without having to ? do?something. In this program you will learn how to give and receive restorative yoga through  the use of props, postioning, breathing and meditation techniques. We will explore how healing occurs, how systems of the body are engerized or relaxed in restorative poses, contraindication, and the power of quiet intention. We will deeply explore how to observe students as they become expansive, and to observe ourselves as we ?allow? students to restore rejuvenate and revive their bodies, emotions, and thoughts.  $150.00 CE's available for Yoga Teachers.
